How long does the online consultation take?
The online consult questionnaire takes about 1 minute. A Canadian clinician reviews your submitted questionnaire within 48 hours. If more information is needed, the clinical team will contact you. The review timeframe does not include pharmacy preparation or delivery.
Why are there three ingredients in AfterTick Topical Cream?
The formulation combines an antibiotic (doxycycline 8.5%), an anti-inflammatory medicine (ketoprofen 5%) and a local anesthetic (lidocaine 5%) in a single compounded cream. These are different ingredient roles; they are not proof of clinical benefit for this combination after a tick bite. A clinician decides whether it is appropriate for your care.
How do I use the cream?
Use it only as prescribed and follow the dispensing pharmacy’s label for the amount, frequency and duration. Tell your clinician about allergies, medications, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and any relevant medical conditions. Ask the pharmacist about precautions before use.
Does AfterTick Topical Cream prevent Lyme disease?
No. The compounded product has not been shown to prevent Lyme disease or treat an active infection. No human clinical trials have been conducted on it. It does not replace medical assessment or oral antibiotics when indicated.
Is a prescription guaranteed?
No. A clinician reviews your symptoms, medical history and the details of the bite before deciding what care is appropriate. They may recommend a prescription, another care option or an in-person assessment.
Should I wait for an online consultation if I feel unwell?
